Shadow Puppet Girl

Shadow Puppet Girl

Her skirts are like feathers

Darkened plumes

Vibrant enough to fill a thousand small rooms

Her arms long and gentle

Her two legs likewise

Graceful, melodic, visual lullabies

Her neck’s slender form

Silhouetted in black

Aesthetic beauty the girl does not lack

But twisting and turning

On pointed strapped shoes

We cannot hear her melancholy tune

And as the shadow puppet girl

Dances in the light

A frown or a smile we never catch sight
